About Deb Lawrence and Next Chapter Fitness & Nutrition

Hi I'm Deb Lawrence, owner of Next Chapter Fitness & Nutrition, the personal training studio at
17C Computer Drive E, Albany, NY.

I am, first and foremost, a mom, but I’m also a partner, a daughter, a sister, and a small business owner, among other things. So I know what it’s like to feel “sandwiched” by various demands on your time.

My own fitness journey began when my daughters were quite young, and I realized that I needed to be intentional about including fitness in my life, otherwise it would never happen. I am grateful that I can now share my experience and training with women who are committed to investing in themselves and their health.

I imagine you have some questions, and are wondering if this is the right step for you.

That's why I'm offering you a free consultation - just click the button below to start the conversation.

What Clients Say About Us

Next Chapter Fitness & Nutrition ... has significantly improved my quality of life. As someone living with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), I have long struggled with fitness, balance, strengthening, and managing chronic pain. Finding a place that understands these challenges and offers effective support has been a game-changer.

From the moment I met Deb she has been nothing short of amazing. She has demonstrated extraordinary patience and attentiveness, carefully listening to my concerns and understanding the limitations imposed by my condition. She has designed a personalized fitness program that focuses on improving my balance, strength, and overall well-being, all while being mindful of my pain and mobility issues.

Deb's approach is both professional and empathetic .... Her guidance has helped me make noticeable progress, and I feel my strength growing and my balance improving. Beyond the physical improvements, Deb's support has also positively impacted my mental outlook, giving me more confidence and hope.

... The expertise, kindness, and personalized care provided here are unparalleled..

I feel great when training! Deb mixes things up so it never gets boring. And I see small victories on a regular basis....

It was getting so my carry-on bag for plane trips was very, very hard to lift into the overhead compartments. Two weeks ago I just flew back from Florida, and it was a breeze lifting my carry-on up into the compartment. And a year ago I was still having hip problems despite a year of physical therapy. Now the pain is gone.

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm not feeling at all in shape - can I still work out?

Of course! This is the first step on a journey toward greater strength and health, and everyone starts at her own point.

I’ve never worked with a personal trainer before, and I don't really know what kind of training I need - what should I ask for?

No worries - we'll figure that out together. Every program begins with a thorough assessment, and plans are crafted from there.

Are sessions one-on-one or in a group?

Both! You can choose between private and semi-private sessions. In a private session, you will work one-on-one with a trainer. In a semi-private session, you will be working out with one or two others, but you will each have your own unique workout guided by the trainer.

I have a bad knee/shoulder, is it worth it to start training?

Absolutely. Resistance training provides what we need to keep our joints healthy, and we know just how to modify plans to accommodate a variety of circumstances common to women 50+.

How much is your personal training?

That depends on the type of session you choose, how many sessions we have together per week, and the duration of your program. We will go over all of that in our programming consultation.
